Sorting packaged vegetables

Function:
Automated weighing, labeling and sorting of prepackaged vegetables..

Client:
Zwijnenburg, Ochten, The Netherlands.
Manufacturers of prepackaged vegetable.

Operation:
The machine is linked to a weighing and labeling machine that is connected to the company’s central computer. An operator places packaged vegetable products on the weighing and labeling machine’s feed belt. The products are weighed and supplied with the correct labels at a rate of 60 packages a minute. The sorting line consists of a conveyor belt with 12 sorting positions at right angles to the direction of movement.
Each sorting position is assigned temporarily to a customer. The labeled packages are directed to the correct sorting position from the point of the labeling machine onwards. At the sorting position, the packages are buffered and collected together by an operator, afterwards being taken to the dispatch department for delivery to the customer.
